It must have been a week or so ago now, if I remember correctly. Yes, one day last week. Well, you see, I had woken up in the morning – bright eyed and bushy tailed, I might add – sun blazing through the window, although how the curtains were open remains a mystery to me, and I felt bright as a button. In fact, I hadn’t felt that good for a long time. I’d found my clothes; well, it wasn’t exactly a hard task as the room was quite empty! So, I gathered my clothes together,

He comes every week. All the kids hear him coming. We used to go out and play in the morning, then as soon as we heard him we’d all run into our houses and close the doors as fast as we could. At least, that was what we used to do. Before Christine told us what had happened to her, when she didn’t run fast enough ‘cause she didn’t believe us. She said we were lying: that there wasn’t a Rag and Bone man: that no one would want our bones anyway.
